Our Mission

Welcome to enBloom, a blog devoted to improving the health & science literacy of all people. In this 21st century, we marvel at the ability of science and technology to have an impact upon our health in ways never imagined. Yet, we realize that know-how and ability does not always seamlessly translate into maximizing your health and well-being. We are here to help you navigate the abundance of health information available thanks to the Internet in its current incarnation. It is responsible for the emergence of Health 2.0, MedicineX, TEDMED and social health. More importantly, we want to assist you in translating that information into something meaningful so you can get the most out of the American health care system. By focusing on topic areas in science literacy & learning, biomedical research, wellness, prevention, treatment, health policy and bioethics; this blog promotes advocacy, literacy, and engagement for the health of all patients.

We seek to:

  • Improve the health literacy of all people
  • Provide a road map to credible health information resources online including those available through the Department of Health and Human Services websites
  • Provide resources that help enrich dialog between patients and their physicians or other health care providers.
